SLC Metropolitan District Nos. 1, 2, 3 & 4
SLC Metropolitan District No.1, SLC Metropolitan District No. 2, SLC Metropolitan District No. 3 and SLC Metropolitan District No. 4 are Title 32 Special Districts that have been established for the purpose of financing and installing street, water, sanitation, traffic and safety controls, park and recreation, limited fire protection, limited television relay and translation improvements and services of the District(s); and all other improvements or services permitted by Article 1, Title 32, C.R.S. (collectively, the “Public Improvements and Services”), except as specifically limited by the Service Plans for the Districts approved by the City of Aurora on August 5, 2019, as it may be amended from time to time (the “Service Plan”).
The Public Improvements and Services are for the use and benefit of the residents and taxpayers of the Districts. The Districts are located in the City of Aurora, Arapahoe County, Colorado. The Districts are quasi-municipal political subdivisions of the State of Colorado authorized to provide specialized services that the City of Aurora or Arapahoe County does not provide.
The Districts may incur a maximum debt of $156,000,000 in aggregate of all Districts. Debt may be payable from any and all legally available revenues of the Districts, including general ad valorem property taxes, fees, rates, tolls, penalties, or charges as provided in the Service Plan and Section 32-1-1001(1), C.R.S.
The Districts may assess a maximum mill levy for debt of 50 mills, as adjusted after January 1, 2004, to take into account legislative or constitutionally imposed adjustments in the method of calculating assessed value, to repay such debt.
The Districts must file an Annual Report to the City of Aurora and Arapahoe County Clerk and Recorder.
The District’s boundaries overlap with the boundaries of the following entities: Aurora School District #28J, Arapahoe County, Developmental Disability, City of Aurora, Regional Transportation, Urban Drainage & Flood, Urban Drainage & Flood South Platte and W. Arapahoe Conservation District.
